In vino veritas
One of the great things Spain has to offer in the matter of gastronomy is, of course, its wine. To have it on its own, or accompanied by nice food, this type of grape juice has an endless number of surprises.
Madrid is a land of wine, as you can read in our brother post in Gran Vía Capital, where you can see some of the best wine routes through Madrid: ‘The arrival of the roman empire route’, ‘The Císter legacy and the Church Valley’, ‘The wines in the Tajo and the Order of Santiago’, ‘The King’s road’, ‘Francisco de Goya’s scenes and chronicles’, ‘The railway times’
In addition to visiting some of the 44 wine cellars with the certificate of origin of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, we propose another activity related to the favourite drink of Bacchus the God.
Wine museum in Navalcarnero
Very close to the city of Madrid (approximately 30 km), in the town of Navalcarnero, you can find the Wine Museum. These facilities help visitors to get to know how wine was made in a perfectly conserved 19th Century cellar, from the collection and harvest to the pouring in the wineglass, going through every step of the elaboration process.
Visitors can also discover Madrid’s wine history, from the first family exploitations to the wine Industries’ training in the Autonomous Community; all the types of elaboration processes (white wine, rosé, young, aging, reserve wine…) the different cellars and wines in Madrid, wine through the five senses…
In conclusion, the Museum searches to make your visit a cultural and educational experience, as well as sensory and unforgettable. In addition to the Museum, you can make the most of one of the most touristic towns of Madrid’s Autonomous Community.
