Hoyo de Manzanares
Just until the end of November, the Mycology days take place in this town. This event searches to show the cycle of life of the mushrooms you can find in the locality, the environment, varieties and classes, as well as the different culinary possibilities of the edible mushrooms.
Going out to the field with a mycologist, competitions, workshops, children’s activities, cooking classes… in this event you can enjoy a varied programme.
Puerto de Canencia
Puerto de Canencia, apart from being one of the most beautiful points of Madrid’s mountain range, has a wide variety of mushrooms in this time of year (boletus edulis, red pine mushroom…). As before, we strongly advise you that if you’re not accompanied by an expert, you only pick them us as a sport and not to eat them, at least until a specialist confirms if there edible or not.
Alameda del Valle
This town is situates in the Guadarrama National Park, in the north of Madrid. You can find here various types of mushrooms, from edibles to poisonous.
This area in the Guadarrama Mountain Range is perfect for mushroom picking thanks to its climate and vegetation, specially the red pines and boletus.
