Published on July 13, 2017 by Madrid SmartRentals

It’s very hot outside, don’t you think? With the high temperatures in the summer it’s necessary to hydrate correctly and drink liquids on a regular basis. Today we’re going to tell you how to prepare some very easy and delicious drinks to calm your thirst and fight the heat.

  • Lemonade: A summer classic. You can find it in any supermarket, but doing it home is also a very easy and fast way.

Ingredients: 2 lemons, 1 lime, 8 cups of cold water (sparkling or still), sugar and ice. You can also add a bit of mint.

Preparation: Squeeze the juice of the lemons and lime. Mix it with half the water and sugar. Use a colander to strain it and mix it with what was left of the water. Serve it with ice.

  • PinkLimonade or red berries lemonade: A very popular sweet beverage in United States.

Ingredients: 100 grams of white sugar, 375 centilitres of lemon juice, 150 grams of icing sugar, 200 centilitres of blueberry juice (or any red berry), and one litre of water.

Preparation: Heat up in a pot 125 centilitres of water with the white sugar until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool down a couple of hours in the fridge. In a blender use the previous mix with the lemon and blueberry juice, the icing sugar and 800 centilitres of water. Mix properly and put in the fridge for some hours before serving.

  • Sangría: The Spanish most popular summer drink.

Ingredients: 1 bottle of wine, 2 oranges, 2 lemons, 4 peaches, 3 tablespoons of sugar, soda and ice.

Preparation: Empty the wine in a pitcher filled with ice. Add the peaches cut into pieces, the sugar and squeezed juice of the oranges and lemons. Remove and let it rest in the fridge for at least two hours. Serve it with soda (or some liquor like Cointreau) and a lot of ice.
