The best croquetas in Madrid

Published on March 3, 2017 by Madrid SmartRentals

We can tell that together with the spanish tortilla (and with permission of the famous patatas bravas) croquettes are some of the best examples of tapas. A great creation in the world of pinchos and raciones in Spain.

An easy but also complicated dish; its charm lives in its simplicity. This béchamel dough coated in butter, at which you can add different ingredients, first originated in France (We have to be honest), but its highest exponents are the culinary traditions in the Netherlands and in Spain.

Today we would like to show you some of the best places to eat croquetas in Madrid, so you can plan a varied and interesting route of pinchos  and tapas.

The best croquetas in Madrid

As always, the restaurants and bars we recommend as the best places to eat croquettes in Madrid, are just our personal favourites. We’re sure that during your days in Madrid you can come up with some places to add to this list:

  • Casa Julio: Located in the 37th of Madera street. You can try the tasty croquettes and other kind of great
  • El quinto vino: Calle Hernani, 48. The homemade croquetas de jamón serrano have made a place in the heart (and stomach) of locals. Its decoration is that of a classic tavern, of those you can’t find anymore.
  • Casa Labra: Many decades behind its back. Located in the number 12 of Tetuán street. The cod croquettes are a classic in the tapas in Madrid.
  • Taberna Pedraza: Calle Ibiza, 40. One of the modern classics for tapeo in Madrid. Taberna Pedraza offers a wide variety of raciones and pinchos, but their croquetas (ham, quail, cured meat) are their main attraction.
  • Viavélez: General Perón, 10. This tapas and menu restaurant has the ham croquettes as one of the main dishes. We don’t exaggerate if we tell you that these are one of the best croquetas in Madrid.
